CHaSS Council meets with the dean

November 29th, 2011 · No Comments

The Utah State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHaSS) Council had the opportunity to meet with CHaSS Dean John Allen Fri., Nov. 18 to be able to relate thoughts and concerns from a student perspective. One of the highlights of the meeting was that of the first developments of a new practicum in the college, to be headed by speech communication major Abby Kingsford.

Dean Allen spoke about the many ways the college’s faculty have taken cuts in their own luxuries and how Allen has taken significant deductions in his own travel time to be able to pinch pennies and help the college be more economical. He said he feels confident about the abilities of the college to produce students who provide positive values and worthwhile occupations to society. He talked about how he had been at a convention elsewhere in the country days earlier and that deans of notable schools on the East Coast were seeking his advice on how to operate their college after seeing a display of CHASS’s new magazine, Liberalis.
